McQuina Peters, she/her, is a gifted writer and illustrator. Her artistic endeavors span the realms of literature, comic art and concept art, where she brings imagination to life in the early stages of video games, animations, and movies, much like a visual storyteller.

Born and raised in Treaty 7 Calgary, Alberta, McQuina's artistic vision draws inspiration from her rich and diverse cultural heritage. Her father's Mi'kmaq roots, and her mother's Scottish lineage have shaped her artistic identity, instilling a deep connection to all of her family lineage. McQuina's passion for preserving her cultural heritage fuels her quest to explore and learn more about her Mi'kmaq heritage, bridging the past with the present.

In the world of creative expression, McQuina is committed to the art of writing fictional worlds to open discussions about our own world and values. Influenced by authors like Jonathan Stroud and Leo Bardugo, she has honed her storytelling craft, a passion ignited during her school days. It all began with a book her mother would read to her, "Wish Upon a Unicorn," which sparked her desire to create and tell her own stories, reflecting her boundless imagination. 

She took on art at a young age as an expression of these stories. Selling handmade greeting cards and ornaments at markets as well as doing freelance commission work. With a vast portfolio her passion is in concept art, creating the fundamentals of new worlds and ideas.

With her mixed heritage, love for storytelling, and unwavering dedication to the realms of literature and visual art, McQuina Peters embarks on a creative journey marked by a profound connection to her roots.
